The correct posture is extremely important for all belly dancers. Good posture is key to all belly dance techniques and is also a pre-requisite for balancing props. Although it is a simple concept, good posture during dance is one of the hardest feats to master as it requires one to maintain extra mindfulness while dancing. Prior to commencing shimmy practice or choreographies, make sure you first align your shoulders, lift your chest up from your diaphragm, tuck in your stomach, and stick your buttocks in! How to align your shoulders? Stand up straight and roll your shoulders back. Let your arms fall to your sides.
